Wessex Organic Movement Event Programme 2009
Below are the event proposed for 2009. Please take a look at the suggestions and let me have any comments. The list is very provisional the moment as hosts are still to confirm details and dates, so we also have a replacement list of visits as back up.
A confirmed events list will be announced at the AGM in Jan 09 and published in the first WORM newsletter circulated March 2009.

Work Party for Future Farms at Martin (WORM hosts in July ’08)
5 – 6 volunteers wanted for ½ day at the weekend to help with sowing onions and other tasks. Well worth a visit. See report of visit in July ’08 on the WORM website.

Dean's Court's garden is a peaceful haven near the center of this busy market town.
Dean Court offers visitors 13 acres of gardens, with specimen trees, lawns, borders, herb garden, enclosed kitchen garden, a rose garden, peacocks and monastery fishpond as well as wilder parts to explore. The gardens are run on organic principles without chemicals. Part of the Henry Doubeday seed bank of endangered botanical species is held here. Plants are usually on sale.

This family run trout farm produces fresh hand made smoked products, specialising in terrines. A smokery on the premises produces both hot and cold smoked trout and smoked trout terrine. Our shop is situated in a beautiful 18th Century walled kitchen garden in the heart of Pythouse Farm about 2 miles west of Tisbury and about 6 miles north east of Shaftesbury. Our shop stocks organic lamb, beef and chicken from our farm and, in season, fresh fruit & vegetables from our kitchen garden. In addition we stock all the items you would expect to find in a good farm shop with particular emphasis on local produce. Chris and Wendy Pope started making quality ice cream using milk from their own cows at Barford Farm on The National Trust Kingston Lacy Estate near Wimborne in May 2006. There is an on site shop in the farmhouse ice cream garden and delivery service to other retail outlets and restaurants.

Chalke Valley Watercress - Broadchalke
Watercress has long been known as being a healthy food. Watercress contains loads of vitamin C, Vitamin A, potassium, iron, copper, calcium, Vitamin K and has been associated with cancer treatment in Amercia for some years. Chalke Valley Watercress offers a stunning vision of old time farming along the chalk beds of Broadchalke and although they sell mostly to the wholesale market you can pick up a fresh bunch straight from fridge near the shed alongside the waterbeds.
Sunsalads - Cranborne Dorset (Watercress)
